Dozens of god-like cars and trucks perch above the highway, looking down on traffic. Their majestic grills and mighty bumpers remind you of a time when vehicles where working heroes, instead of flimsy appliances. The collector has focused on models that are unusual in "Classic Car" circles.
I came across this collection while on a motorcycle trip in 2015 and returned in October 2017 with my 4x5" camera. Poor weather curtailed that trip so I returned in July 2018 for another try in much hotter weather. The first six images are from 2017 and the next ten are from 2018. The firetruck on its pedestal (Heron I, II, and III) was the driving factor in returning for the second excursion. The next three images are from a return in February 2019, hoping to get a little snow. I caught these between blizzards on a bitter cold day, but only using my medium format camera. And finally (?) I returned in August 2020 with the 4x5 view camera to explore the Metropolitans in better weather. A nice truck popped up too.
