Cycles and Cinema
The Deeley Motorcycle Exhibition in Vancouver, B.C. has done it again with a knock-out show of famous motorcycles. "Cycles and Cinema" features replicas or similar models for great movies from the '50s to the present. The captions tell of the movie associations - how many can you guess?
This section of the web site features scans of B&W prints, as well as the digital color shots taken while setting up my lighting. I like both styles, but B&W, shot on film, means more to me. While the color photos are pretty, the B&W prints convey the mechanical magic of these motorcycles and the history associated with them.
It's a great show, and probably up for all of 2014. Consider a trip to Vancouver to see for yourself!

1920 Indian Scout
Can you imagine this as the exemplar for the 2005 film, "World's Fastest Indian"? This unrestored 595 cc twin is the forerunner of the 101 Scouts in my "American Motorcycles" gallery in this site. I'm surprised the image looks this good - the flash lights must have peeled off a couple of layers of rust and grime.
