National Motorcycle Museum
John Parham's vast collection of vintage motorcycles forms the core of the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa. In addition, other collectors have loaned some of their bikes to the extensive show. My photos here represent just a few of the most interesting, all conveniently posed on viewing stands. The color versions are from the Nikon D850 and the B&W are from the Hasselblad with TriX film. Three to five battery flashes provided the lighting.
The captions are greatly condensed from the extensive signage at the museum, any errors are mine. The museum will close at the end of the 2023 season, so plan to visit soon.

1948 Moto Guzzi GTV 500
This 500 cc single with overhead valves and Dellorto carburetor was in production from 1934 until 1976. With improvements along the way these were not only racy in appearance but reliable workhorses. Owners of restored GTVs generally ride them, rather than merely admire them. The external flywheel on the left side is attractive and the heel-toe shift linkage on the right is more eye-candy.
