Schloss Vincent
Herr Kurt Schupp’s passion for collecting motorcycles, memorabilia, and spare parts is simply astounding. With about 140 motorcycles from ground floor to attic, and thousands of associated collectibles, the visitor can get lost for hours. As “Schloss Vincent” implies, pride of place goes to his collection of Vincents, which was the reason for my visit. In addition, there are over 100 NSU bikes shoehorned into every corner and nook.
Visitors are welcome, but call ahead to 49-6446-5402. Google-map his address, Lindenbach Strasse 13, Schoeffengrund-Niederwetz. It’s not on the beaten path, but still a pleasant drive North from Frankfurt. If staying overnight, I recommend the Gasthof am Turm in nearby Braunfels, a motorcycle-friendly inn with great food.
The photos here are from a digi-camera in color and printed from B&W film from my Hasselblad as a result of two days of shooting. Details are in the captions. More information about Herr Schupp and his collection is available through http://www.classic-motorrad.de.
