2010 Cookin in the Kettles Bikerace
Those intrepid bikers were back in the Kettles Park and Ft. Ebey State Park for races on March 28, 2010. I stationed myself on the Cedar Grove Trail, just below the junction with the Cedar Hollow Trail. This is about 5 miles into the 7 mile loop and half-way up the second-to-the-last long hill. Many riders were still in high spirits, but all were giving this hill their best efforts. Thanks to all of the riders for their cooperation.
The blurred pictures were my main goal. I wanted to capture the spirit of the race more than individual portraits. For these I used a wide angle lens just off the trail with a medium speed film (Ilford HP5). A few other photos are more recognizable, mostly taken with a very high speed film (Kodak TMZ) and telephoto lens.
Where possible I have added possible identifiers in the captions. Maybe next year I'll think to take someone with me to record rider numbers as I fire away with the film.
