The Kettles trails in Ft. Ebey State Park make for challenging biking. These hardy souls entered the 2008 "Cookin' in the Kettles" races on March 22. I set up 2 cameras near the top of a particularly grueling hill on Cedar Grove trail. One camera had very high speed film (3200 ISO) to seize the action; the other had more normal (400 ISO) film to let the riders' intensity show by means of blurring. I want to thank every rider for doing their very best every time they came struggling up the hill past me, waving, smiling and/or groaning. My thanks also to the race organizers for encouraging me to participate in their event in this way.
